The energy is building. I'm putting together plans to potentially attend the UAC (United Astrology Conference) next year, and the return of such a major event after a long hiatus feels like a significant marker. It feels like time to level up.

A few weeks ago, I was chatting with a young man in his mid-twenties when he said something that stuck with me: “Astrology is a religion.” He didn't say it like it was his opinion, but more like a simple, undeniable fact.

“My interest in the discipline of traditional astrology hinges on whether or not it is useful in today’s world. We are in a world where one can have not only two moms, but three.”

Last week, I participated in another successful Speed Reading event, hosted by Carrie Miura of the_alignment_collective. This time, we gathered at The Wicked Wolf in Long Beach, a cool bar with a chill urban vibe and some truly excellent craft cocktails.

This week's Venus, Uranus, and Alcyone conjunction, peaking Thursday, July 3rd, 2025, brought to mind the excellent psychological drama series The Bear. After watching episode two of the recently released fourth season last night, I noticed some analogous threads connecting to this astrological configuration. Spoiler alert for anyone who hasn't seen it yet – but if you have, you might find this interesting.

It was one thing to decide that I was going to pursue a proper education in the art of astrology. It was another to know where that would lead me.
